Gardai were pursuing two suspects in the Glasnevin area when a squad car was rammed
Two men arrested in connection with a series of incidents in north Dublin are expected to appear in court this morning.
The two men, aged in their 20s, were arrested by gardai after a high-speed pursuit in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Gardai were pursuing two suspects in a 4X4 jeep in the Glasnevin area of Dublin when a squad car was rammed.
At approximately 6am, Gardaí observed the suspects in the black 4X4 vehicle on Hillcrest Park. They signalled the vehicle to stop which it failed to do.
Garda units followed the 4X4 onto Glasnevin Park when it rammed a Garda patrol car and sped from the scene.
A member of An Garda Síochána was injured following the incident. His injuries are not serious, a spokesperson said. He is believed to have suffered a broken arm or hand in the incident.
In a follow-up operation, Gardaí intercepted the same vehicle in the Ashbourne area of County Meath at approximately 6.45am. Two men in their 20s were arrested at the scene.
The suspects are set to appear at Cavan District Court.
