Tomorrow looks like a rough day in the south west
From midnight tonight a huge amount of rain is being forecast for the Cork area, so much so that a code orange warning has been issued.
Cork City Council issued the warning after Met Eireann said that up to 75mm of rain will fall overnight and tomorrow.
Cork has suffered badly with flooding in recent years and if the heavy rainfall comes to pass, the city will be tested again.
Met Eireann are also warning of 'treacherous driving conditions' and 'impaired visibility' in the area while 'surface water and spot flooding are highly likely'.
They say that the rain will spread to the east and northern parts of the country tomorrow afternoon before clearing but heavy rain is expected on Friday night across the country.
Saturday should be dry with sunny spells in all areas.
