Police in Florida have arrested a woman after her home was found to be stuffed with lethal weapons.
Police called to Nickcole Dykema's home to assist parole officers when she attacked them with a sword.
Bean bags were fired at her to try and stop the assault but she refused to surrender and after a five-hour standoff, a stun gun was used to subdue Dykema.
Police then entered her home in Brooksville, north of Tampa and made a shocking discovery.
The home was filled with bladed weapons.
A full examination of the home discovered that many rooms were booby trapped with weapons, as was part of the garden, resulting in some minor injuries to the police involved.
In total, a staggering 3714 'bladed weapons' were discovered at the property, including many swords, large knives and other 'bladed instruments'.
Police also discovered many fake body parts and fake skeletons with knives stuck in them as well as a shrine with pentagrams on it.
In a press release, Sheriff Al Nienhuis said: “This person was obviously dangerous to the community. It amazes me that these deputies were able to take her into custody without anyone being injured. It shows the level of their restraint and professionalism under very difficult and dangerous conditions.
Had something gone wrong, it would be easy for critics to accuse them of moving too quickly or too slowly. I appreciate their willingness to deal with these very volatile situations. I know the public appreciates them as well.”
Dykema faces multiple charges, mostly relating to parole violations.
