The former professional boxer who survived a gun attack last year has spoken of his shock that it is now believed the real target of the hitmen was Gary Hutch, who was gunned down on the Costa Del Sol last week.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Jamie Moore was stunned to hear that the incident that almost cost him his life was, police believe, an attempt to take out Hutch.

“I was pretty shocked when I heard that. I have not heard that before," he said.

“When I spoke to the police they told me it was to do with Russians and Ukranians.”

Moore was shot five times in Marbella in August of last year.

He had been visiting the home of Daniel Kinahan, son of crime boss Christy Kinihan, when the attack took place.

It is now believed that Moore, who has no connection to any criminal activity, was mistaken for Hutch, the intended target of the hit.

On Thursday Hutch died in a hail of bullets at an apartment complex in Mijas after a suspected falling out with the Kinahan gang.

Moore (36) is still suffering the effects of the shooting, where he was hit five times, admitting he still has nerve damage and 'quite a lot of pain'.
