A 17-YEAR-OLD boy arrested for stealing a car from his care home in Co. Louth has been refused bail.

He was arrested at a housing estate in west Dublin and brought before Judge John O'Connor at the Children's Court yesterday.

The juvenile court heard it was alleged he stole a car from a children's care home in Co. Louth on Monday night and he was arrested in Dublin at 7.05am yesterday.

The teen, who was accompanied to court by his solicitor, had broken bail conditions that were imposed earlier in relation to other charges. His solicitor David Stafford said the teen found it difficult to obey a curfew and he has accepted breaching the bail terms.

The judge said if the teenager had shown he could obey them he may have been able to get them changed. The youth, who has not yet entered a plea, was remanded in custody to appear again next week.
