Gardai carried out the searches yesterday
Two separate searches by Gardai have resulted in a large quantity of cannabis being seized
Gardai from the Ronanstown Drugs Unit and Lucan Detective Unit were out on patrol in the Clondalkin area yesterday afternoon at about 3.30 when they observed a car acting suspiciously.
They stopped and searced the car, and during the course of the search six kilos of herbal cannabis (subject to analysis) with a street value of €120,000 was discovered.
A man in his late 30s was arrested and brought to Ronanstown Garda station where he is being detained under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.
During follow up searches, later on Friday evening, a house in Clondalkin was searched and a number of cannabis plants were discovered (subject to analysis) with an estimated street value of €40,000.
Another man, also in his late 30s, was arrested and is detained at Ronanstown Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Earlier yesterday, Gardai seized almost €200,000 of cannabis in another search at a house in Cabra.
