A motorist has been killed in Louth this morning
Gardai in Drogheda, Co Louth are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred in Monasterboice this morning
The collision between two cars occurred at approximately 6.15am at Tully Esker, on the Drogheda to Monasterboice Rd.
A man, aged 36, who was the driver of one car was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene and his body remains at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the other car, a man and a woman in their 30s, have been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.
Gardai in Drogheda are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on the road between 5.45am and 6.30am this morning the 20th November to contact them on 041 9874200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
Another person also lost their life on our roads overnight.
In Monaghan, a pedestrian was killed after colliding with a truck in Catsleblaney.
