More rain and misery on the way
Yet more heavy rainfall is on the way for a number of counties that have already been deluged in recent days.
Met Eireann issued a fresh Yellow Warning today for counties Dublin, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry and Waterford.
The forecasters say that between 15 and 25mm of rain will fall on these counties from this morning until 7pm tonight.
After almost non-stop rain over the last 24 hours in these areas, yet more downpours are the last thing residents want to hear.
And the outlook for the coming days is even worse.
Tomorrow will be mild and the rain will be lighter but Monday will see heavy rain in virtually all parts of the country.
Tuesday will be even worse as heavy rain will be accompanied by very high winds, in what should be the sixth storm of the season, this time called Storm Frank.
