Gardaí in New Ross, Co Wexford are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that happened yesterday afternoon.
The only occupant, a woman in her 20s, was killed when the car she was driving struck a wall at at Camblin, New Ross, Co Wexford just before 5pm yesterday.
She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body has been removed to University Hospital Waterford.
No other persons were injured.
It is understood the young woman was the mother of baby twins.
It brings the number of people killed on Irish roads over Christmas and St Stephen's Day to four.
In the early hours of Christmas morning 16-year-old Warren Kenny lost his life following an incident in Ballyfermot.
The teenager was critically injured after his scrambler-type bike collided at speed with a similar vehicle shortly after 8am.
Elsewhere a man in his 20s died when he was hit by a car on the outskirts of Castledermot, Co Kildare, on Christmas night.
And a teenage driver died after a three-vehicle crash on St Stephen's Day morning in Kilcogy in Cavan.
