THE wife and father-in-law of Limerick man Jason Corbett have appeared in court in the US over his death.
As part of bail conditions, Molly Martens Corbett has been forbidden from contacting Jason’s family – and specifically his two young children.
Molly Martens Corbett (32) and her father Thomas Martens (65) have been charged with second degree murder and voluntary manslaughter over the death.
39-year-old father-of-two Jason Corbett died from head injuries at his home in North Carolina.
The pair appeared at Davidson County courthouse flanked by supporters earlier this evening.
They were arrested by appointment before being photographed, finger printed and brought before the court.
An application for bail was not opposed by the district attorney and was granted by the judge on condition $200,000 is lodged with the court for each of them.
They must also surrender their passports and cease any contact with Jason Corbett’s family, specifically his two children.
Superior Court Judge Theodore Royster agreed to the bail conditions.
Both remained silent during the appearance and no date has yet been set for trial.
