THE body of an Irish man has been recovered in the sea at the popular Thai resort of Pattaya.
His body was discovered around 1km off the coast.
Police were notified at around 8.30am that the body had been found, the Bangkok Post reports.
The man wearing only shorts and was face down in the water. There were no signs of injury on the body, police said.
He was identified as an Irish national after a passport was found in his pocket.
It is believed he drowned, however the body has been sent for a post-mortem.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has said it is aware of the reports, and is in contact with the consulate.
