Danny Ward
A convicted child rapist who has been forced to move accommodation twice in the past two years was physically attacked again inside what appears to be a Dublin Garda station.
Danny Ward has been chased out of accommodation in north Dublin and from Ringsend last month. He was beaten and chased by a mob in Ringsend after he was identified by teenagers who had seen his picture on a radio show website.
In recent weeks it is believed that Ward was living rough in the Dun Laoghaire area. He was pictured a number of times by local people who appear to have been hunting for him. He was filmed on a bicycle in the Monkstown area yesterday around lunch time.
It appears he took refuge in the reception area of Dun Laoghaire Garda station and a short clip of film appeared on 98FM's Dublin Talks with Adrian Kennedy and Jeremy Dixon Facebook page. The video purports to show a man, who they have identified as Ward, cowering on the corner of a bench as a young, bigger man moves threateningly towards him with his right fist drawn back.
The assailant shouts: “That’s the way the f***ing child was you f***ing scumbag...you f***ing animal.” He then punches Ward twice on the head and tries to kick him but slips on the tiled floor of the reception area.

The Garda Press Office have yet to comment - but it is understood an "operation" is currently ongoing in Dun Laoghaire Garda Station.
An earlier video clip showed Ward being shouted at by a woman as he stopped on his bike at Monkstown. He cycles off as she shouts at him.
After being injured in the attack last month Ward is believed to have left a B&B he had been staying in in the south side of the city. Last October he had to flee another B&B in north Dublin as another mob gathered after he had been identified online.
Ward is currently under the supervision of the Probation Service and Garda Siochana under its Sex Offender Risk Assessment and Management (SORAM) scheme under which released sex offenders, according to their potential risk to re-offend, must make their whereabouts known to gardai.
Details of his sentence or crime can't be published in order to protect the identity of his victim, but as a convicted sex offender Ward is required to sign on at a garda station every seven days.
Around 1,000 men, and a small number of women, are on the SORAM monitoring scheme at any time.
Sex offenders must make their whereabouts known to gardai or can be re-imprisoned for breaching the terms of their release.
