Cults Academy in Aberdeen
A pupil at a secondary school in Scotland has died following an incident, authorities have said.
The boy, believed to be just 16, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following an incident at a secondary school in Aberdeen.
Officers were called to Cults Academy in the west of the city at about 1.30pm after reports of a serious attack. Police Scotland said a male pupil was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Police in Aberdeen tweeted: "We can confirm that the Cults Academy incident is being treated as a murder investigation."
Chief inspector Graeme Mackie said: "This is a shocking and extraordinary incident for Aberdeen, and firstly our thoughts are with the family and friends of the boy who has sadly lost his life today.
"A full and thorough inquiry has been launched and there will be a police presence in the area for the foreseeable future.
"We are working closely with the education authorities and wider community as I am sure this incident will be felt not only in Aberdeen but much further afield."
One person, described only as a male, has been detained and is said to be helping officers with their inquiries.
Police Scotland said their inquiries into the incident are continuing and officers are still at the scene.
"A further male has been detained and is currently assisting officers with their inquiries.
"Inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing and officers will remain at the scene for the time being. Next of kin are aware."
The school is described on its website as a six-year comprehensive serving the Lower Deeside area. It has about 1,050 pupils.
Police later confirmed that it is being treated as a murder investigation.
