A picture of injured Dublin student Jack Halpin recovering in hospital has been released.
The 21 year old student was seriously injured in the tragic Berkeley balcony crash last month.
The full extent of Jack's injuries has now been revealed.
The St Judes player suffered spinal injuries, a broken hip, broken leg , shattered knee-cap , and internal injuries, all of which involve complicated surgery.
A statement from fundraising page 'Judes for Jack' last night said that Mr Halpin will need "complex and intensive physiotherapy" following his treatment.
"There will also, unavoidably, have to be modifications to Jack’s home," the statement read.
"Members and friends of Saint Judes GAA Club have already spontaneously begun showing the traditional GAA spirit of fellow-feeling and good will when one of our own suffers such a dreadful experience", it said.
"Jack faces a very tough ordeal in the months ahead.
"With the support of his family and friends, his club and its parish and beyond, let us do all we can to help make his progress back to full health as timely and successful as it can be."
"The Halpin family would like to record their appreciation for all the prayers and support being offered for Jack and all those affected by the events in Berkeley."
Jack was hailed a hero for breaking the fall of 21 year old Clodagh Cogley, saving her life in the horrific incident.
The brother of Clodagh , Darragh Corley paid tribute to Jack on his sister’s behalf.
“She is awake, somehow upbeat and doing really well. [We] can’t believe how lucky she and the rest of the survivors were and Clodagh wanted to say particular thanks to Jack Halpin for grabbing her and breaking her fall," he said on Facebook.
Jack, from Rathmines, is a past pupil of St Mary’s College, and worked for the Omniplex cinema chain.
He took the summer off so he could travel with friends to the US.
Operations director at Omniplex Mark Anderson said Jack is a hero.
A special fundraiser for the young business student is being held at the cinema next Wednesday.
